The rules
What stops a review inventing problems.
Three constraints, enforced per lens. They reduce fabrication; they do not eliminate it, and we would rather say so here than have you find out mid-review.
Quote or measure
Every finding must cite text from the page or a number taken off it. No finding may rest on a claim about websites in general.
No invented selectors
A lens may only reference a selector that exists in the rendered DOM. If it cannot point at the element, it cannot file the finding.
Silence is allowed
A lens that finds nothing reports nothing. There is no minimum finding count, so nobody has to pad.
- Copy
Claims without units, contradictions between pages, headings that name a category instead of a job, and calls to action that do not say what happens next.
- SEO
Duplicate or defaulted descriptions, missing and malformed structured data, heading order, canonical mistakes, and pages the sitemap forgot.
- UX
Tap targets under 44px, invisible focus rings, forms that lose state on error, and contrast failures reported with the measured ratio rather than a verdict.
- Speed
Largest contentful paint and cumulative layout shift on a throttled connection, each attributed to the asset or the layout shift that caused it.
- Legal
Collection without notice, missing or broken policy links, and cookie behaviour that fires before consent. A screening pass, not legal advice.
- Security
Mixed content, missing headers, and exposed keys redacted to a prefix, with publishable browser keys deliberately not flagged. Judged against OWASP, and not a penetration test.
- Code
With a repository connected, findings arrive with a file, a line and a link straight to GitHub. Without one, the review still runs on the rendered page alone.
- Senior pass
One reviewer reads every lens report and writes the do-this-next list, ranked by what each item costs to leave alone. It may also send a lens back for a second look.

Pages behind a login
We never send cookies upstream, so anything requiring a session is out of reach.
Aggressive bot walls
Some sites see a datacentre IP and serve a challenge instead of the page. Check before you buy, it takes one paste.

Captures are rasterised from the DOM, so canvas, video frames and some backdrop filters render imperfectly. Viewport-only, never full page.
